Lobiviasläktet ingår i familjen kaktusväxter och har sitt naturliga utbredningsområde i västra Sydamerika och södra Sydamerika. De växer vanligtvis på relativt hög höjd i Anderna. Släktet består av 28 arter.
Arterna i lobiviasläktet är klotformade till kort cylindriska, solitärväxande eller tuvbildande och har vanligtvis många taggar. Taggarna sitter relativt glest längs åsarna. Blomman är kort trattformad till klockformad och utvecklas ofta ur gamla areoler på sidan av stammen. Hypantium är täckt av fjäll och långt hår. Blomman är röd, orange, gul, rosa eller vit. Frukten är liten och rund.

Systematik
Typart för släktet är L. pentlandii. Det vetenskapliga namnet Lobivia fick släktet av Nathaniel Lord Britton & Joseph Nelson Rose och är ett anagram av Bolivia, en av de platser där de växer.
