Pentapogon är ett släkte i familjen gräs och består av cirka 24 arter. Släktet har sitt naturliga utbredningsområde i östra Asien, Malesien, Papuasien, Australien, Nya Zeeland och södra centrala Stilla havet.

Pentapogon innehåller arter som är tuvbildande, ett- eller fleråriga örter som har linjära blad. Bladen utvecklas både vid basen och utmed strået och blir från 0,5 till 4 millimeter breda. Plantan utvecklar ett ledat strå som blir från 20 till 60 centimeter långt. Strået är ihåligt och i änden av strået utvecklas en blomställning. Blommorna sitter i småax som i sin tur har en blomställning likt en öppen eller spretig vippa.

Systematik

Det vetenskapliga namnet Pentapogon fick släktet av Robert Brown i publikationen Prodromus florae novae Hollandiae et insulae Van-Diemen när den gavs ut 1810. Typart för släktet är Pentapogon quadrifidus.
