Geochloa är ett släkte i familjen gräs och består av cirka 3 arter. Släktet har sitt naturliga utbredningsområde i södra Afrika.

Geochloa innehåller arter som är tuvbildande, fleråriga örter som har linjära blad. Bladen är basala och blir från 2 till 3 millimeter breda. Plantan utvecklar ett ledat strå som blir från 25 till 75 centimeter långt. Strået är ihåligt och i änden av strået utvecklas en blomställning. Blommorna sitter i småax som i sin tur har en blomställning likt en öppen eller spretig vippa.

Systematik

Det vetenskapliga namnet Geochloa fick släktet av Nigel P. Barker & Hans Peter Linder i publikationen Annals of the Missouri Botanical Garden Vol. 97 när den gavs ut 2010. Typart för släktet är Geochloa lupulina.
