Chaetobromus är ett monotypiskt släkte i familjen gräs och består av endast en art. Släktet har sitt naturliga utbredningsområde i södra Afrika.
Chaetobromus innehåller växter som är tuvbildande, utvecklar korta rhizomer eller utlöpare, är fleråriga örter som har linjära blad. Bladen utvecklas både vid basen och utmed strået och blir från 1 till 5 millimeter breda. Plantan utvecklar ett ledat strå som blir från 15 till 80 centimeter långt. Strået är ihåligt och i änden av strået utvecklas en blomställning. Blommorna sitter i småax som i sin tur har en blomställning likt en öppen eller spretig vippa.

Systematik
Det vetenskapliga namnet Chaetobromus fick släktet av Christian Gottfried Daniel Nees von Esenbeck i publikationen A natural system of botany 2. ed. när den gavs ut 1836. Typart för släktet är Chaetobromus involucratus.
