Chimonobambusa är ett släkte i familjen gräs och består av cirka 43 arter. Släktet har sitt naturliga utbredningsområde i Kina, östra Asien, på indiska subkontinenten och i Indokina.

Chimonobambusa innehåller arter som är tuvbildande, utvecklar korta rhizomer eller utlöpare, är fleråriga växter som har lansettformade blad. Bladen utvecklas längs grenarna utmed strået och blir från 8 till 12 millimeter breda. Plantan utvecklar ett upprättväxande, ledat, ihåligt och vedartat strå som blir från 50 till 600 centimeter långt samt 10 till 15 millimeter i diameter. Vid lederna längs grenarna utvecklas blomställningar. Blommorna sitter i småax som i sin tur har en blomställning likt en vippa.

Systematik

Det vetenskapliga namnet Chimonobambusa fick släktet av Tomitarô Makino i publikationen Shokubutsugaku Zasshi Vol. 28 när den gavs ut 1914. Typart för släktet är Chimonobambusa marmorea.
