Kamferörtssläktet omfattar ungefär 35 arter i familjen asterväxter. Växterna i släktet är ett- till fleråriga örter där några har pålrot. Växterna är ofta håriga och aromatiska. Blomhuvudena sitter ensamma eller några få tillsammans. Strålblommorna är gula till orange eller saknas. Utbredningsområdet är i Nordamerika och Centralamerika.
