Paradisnötssläktet omfattar ungefär 30 arter i familjen paranötsväxter. Växterna i släktet är träd med blad som blir mellan 2 och 40 centimeter långa. Blommorna är zygomorfa och sitter i samlingar. Några arter har ätliga frön. Utbredningsområdet är i Centralamerika och i tropiskt klimat i Sydamerika.
